Die Jahre (The Years)
Someone once wrote that there is an insurmountable divide between what once happened and how that appears to us today – enveloped in a strange insubstantiality. Marco D’Agostins choreography "Die Jahre" represents an attempt to mend this rift: The dazzling story of a unique performer on the Italian dance scene invites us to play with our own memories. We journey on with Marta Ciappina, veering between the present, the moment of performance, and the past, in a web of coming and going that blurs stories, songs, and memories of an irretrievable romantic encounter.
A novel’s shadow slowly descends on stage and audience, with a prompt to write it together: A work borne out of a hundred hands that inspires us to cross our ruins and to look upward.
