Introduction to the project:
Inna Gosha is a freelance dancer and choreographer from Kyiv (Ukraine), who is living in Berlin since 2022. She is planning to search for movements, exercises and activities that help to improve possibilities of one’s body, which specifically focus on the accumulation of energy and strength. All this will be researched in the context of stage dance contemporaries.

Description of the project:
Inna is researching exercises and activities that help to develop the possibilities of one’s body, which specifically focus on the accumulation of energy and strength, therefore helping movements to get rid of sloppiness, but at the same time let them be free and well-trained. All this is planned to happen in the context of stage dance contemporaries.

Inna’s project is all about the search for principles of movement and activity that will help to better feel and control body movements, but at the same time will not limit physical and emotional creativity of the individual. She gives an example for a clearer understanding of her vision: classical dance classes at the barre and in the middle of the hall are very useful for getting a strong and mobile „skeleton“, working on body coordination, balance, jumping power, and clarity of positions and poses. However, simultaneously, there are many cases after classical dance, when the body is proven not to be quite ready for free movement, improvisation and creativity.

Finding a balance between a conservative approach to training a dancer and a free search is her main goal. Ideally, Inna hopes to find a set of movements and a variety of classes that will not only be a complex for high-quality warm-up of the body, but also an effective universal basis for the development of unlimited possibilities of the body in contemporary dance.
